What is the BSC?

The Branch Scout Council (BSC) is a team of youth members who work to support Scout Units in the ACT to deliver a youth program for Scouts (aged 11-14) that is adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive. The BSC was formed in 2016 and represents the views of Scouts at the ACT Branch level, providing an opportunity for Scouts to have their voices heard on topics that impact them.

All Scouts ACT Scout Units are invited to send 1-2 youth representatives to attend each BSC meeting.

BONUS: There is always free pizza at BSC meetings!

The BSC is led by an elected Executive who organises BSC meetings, projects and events. The 2023 BSC Executive is:

  • Chair: Lachlan (Les Explorateurs)
  • Vice Chair: Leila (Garran)
  • Secretary: Luke (LTSS Orion)
  • Executives: Maeve (LGBSS Trident) & Milo (LGBSS Tasman)

We are supported by Jay Reid, the Branch Commissioner Youth Empowerment.

The BSC has a  Terms of Reference document which defines in more detail what we do and how we operate.

BSC meetings can be recorded in  Terrain as a Community activity.
